Yala Designs began in 1987 when Larry and Nancy Morgan were two English teachers living and working in Fujian China, and raising a six-year-old. They slept on beds without sheets or mattresses, even on the grassy ground a few times. And that’s when the idea came: to nurture and protect them in their unfamiliar sleeping circumstances, they stitched together two well-worn sheets as a clean and comforting liner for wherever they slept. They slept cozy each night dreaming of the next day’s adventure. And every morning awoke, they rolled up their “dreamsack”, and started off again.
